Brandel Chamblee highlights potential wrist injury catastrophe for Jordan Spieth in 2025 PGA Tour season.
Brandel Chamblee Expresses Concerns Over Potential Wrist Injury for Jordan Spieth in 2025 PGA Tour Season
Golf Channel pundit Brandel Chamblee has raised concerns about Jordan Spieth’s return to the PGA Tour, specifically regarding a potential wrist injury. Spieth underwent wrist surgery last year to alleviate persistent pain, and while he claims to be pain-free now, Chamblee remains skeptical. During a recent segment on the Golf Channel, Chamblee pointed out Spieth’s “bowed” wrist position and suggested that it could be the root cause of the 31-year-old’s struggles.
Chamblee shared insights from a doctor friend and former PGA Tour golfer Arron Oberholser, both of whom expressed worry about Spieth’s injury. According to Chamblee, his doctor friend mentioned the possibility of the tendon on the ulna side of Spieth’s hand becoming stressed enough to pop out. The doctor compared this wrist pain to lower back pain, stating that it can be challenging to solve and has ended the careers of many tennis players. Oberholser, who recently underwent the same surgery as Spieth, echoed the concerns of Chamblee’s doctor friend, emphasizing that this type of injury should not be taken lightly.
Spieth’s Return to the PGA Tour
Since his return to the PGA Tour at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Spieth has shown signs of rustiness. He shot a 70 at Spyglass Hill before battling his way to an up-and-down 72 at Pebble Beach. On the second day, Spieth’s performance oscillated between birdies and bogeys. However, things took a downturn on the third day when he carded a seven-over 79, including a nine on a single hole.
Spieth’s Goals for the 2025 Season
Before the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Spieth expressed his primary goal of feeling physically as good or better at the end of the tournament stretch as he did at the beginning. He also mentioned his desire to work his way into contention before the Masters and potentially secure a spot on the Ryder Cup team. If Spieth can regain his form from 2015, there is a strong possibility that he will secure his first win in three years this season.

Emma Raducanu issues fitness update after injury, health troubles in late 2025
Emma Raducanu has confirmed that her health and injury issues have been resolved and that she is in “a pretty good place” ahead of the new season.
During the Asian swing, the 2021 US Open champion dealt with foot and back issues, as well as illness. That forced her to end her season in mid-October.
After concluding her 2025 season prematurely, Raducanu took some time off to recover but also enjoy some quality time with her friends. Then, the world No. 29 kicked off her preparations for the 2026 season.
Raducanu: I feel quite content and relaxed… It is a good place to be in
“I feel quite content with how things are going on and off the court. I am in a pretty good place. I just think despite any challenges I have been facing with the foot or the health at the end of the season, I feel in a good place, and I’m building back in the gym, to start with. I am feeling pretty relaxed ahead of next year, which is a good place to be. I am just proud of the season that I have put in this year and the progress I have made,” the 23-year-old told the BBC.
For the first time in her career, Raducanu will start her season at the United Cup as she is due to represent Great Britain with Jack Draper. On January 4th, the British team will meet Japan in their opening match. That day, the top-ranked British female tennis player will clash against four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka.
Great Britain will also face Japan in the United Cup group stage. That means that Raducanu will also play against Maria Sakkari.
After the United Cup, Raducanu is scheduled to play another tournament leading up to the Australian Open – she is set to make her debut at the WTA 250 tournament in Hobart.
