Surprising Scottie Scheffler Forecast from Grant Horvat
Scottie Scheffler recently won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch, McKinney, Texas, finishing at 253 (−31) to tie the PGA Tour 72-hole scoring record and defeating Erik van Rooyen by eight strokes.
He decided not to take part in the Truist Championship, choosing to rest his body and bring his A-game to the PGA Championship. Meanwhile, Grant Horvat, golfer and social media influencer, has an interesting prediction for the world No. 1.
He put all his bets on Scheffler winning the PGA Championship. The 26-year-old made a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, writing, “Who’s winning the PGA Championship? I’m going with Scottie”.
On May 5, 2025, Horvat hosted the Byron Nelson winner in an 18-hole stroke-play match at Scheffler’s course, featuring strategic shot discussions, banter and viral highlights on YouTube/TikTok.
Scheffler shares a special bond with his wife, Meredith. She gave birth to their son, Bennett, last year, and the couple recently celebrated his first birthday. He wrote, “One whole year with our little man!” alongside a heartwarming photo of them together.
Horvat also made another prediction involving Rory McIlroy. Just after the Scheffler one, he wrote, “I think there’s a chance Rory wins all the Majors this year. It felt like his B game won the Masters.”

It remains to be seen which of his predictions comes true first, if any. The 2025 PGA Championship begins Thursday at Quail Hollow Club, featuring stars like Xander Schauffele, Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Justin Thomas besides McIlroy and Scheffler.

Djokovic learns fate in new home as Sabalenka addresses behaviour
Express Sport brings you the latest tennis news from the Paris Masters.
We’re reaching the business end of the Paris Masters, as eight players become four in the French capital. Jannik Sinner is the overwhelming favourite to lift the trophy after Carlos Alcaraz was dumped out by Cameron Norrie in the Spaniard’s opening match. Norrie was then beaten by Valentin Vacherot, whose amazing 10-match winning streak at Masters 1000 level came to an end when he lost to Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Canadian star Auger-Aliassime will face Alexander Bublik in the semis. Bublik defeated Alex de Minaur, who is among those to have already qualified for the year-end ATP Finals. Sinner is through to his first Paris Masters semi-final after beating Ben Shelton. He’ll face defending champion Alexander Zverev, who survived a tough match against Daniil Medvedev.
Novak Djokovic is not involved in the Paris Masters, having decided to skip the event for the second year in a row, but he has learned his fate in the draw of next week’s ATP 250 in Athens. And over in Riyadh, the WTA Finals are about to get underway.
