Stunning Revelation: Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth Secure Fifth Sponsor Exemptions Amid Turbulent Seasons
Two Golf Giants Secure Fifth Sponsor Exemptions Amid Rollercoaster Seasons
Fowler and Spieth, currently competing at the Colonial Golf Club in Fort Worth for the Charles Schwab Challenge 2025, were initially not among the qualified players for the Memorial Tournament. However, with this latest exemption, they are set to showcase their talents at the prestigious event in Dublin, Ohio.
The announcement of their exemptions for the Memorial Tournament comes on the heels of a season filled with ups and downs for both players. While neither has missed many cuts, their performances have not been as dominant as in previous seasons. Fowler, with 9 cuts made out of 11 events, is yet to secure a top 10 finish this season. On the other hand, Spieth, who has missed just two cuts out of 12 starts, has managed three top 10 finishes but has not clinched a title in nearly three years.
Fowler’s journey this season has been a mix of moderate success and missed opportunities, with notable finishes including a T15 at the Truist Championship and a T18 at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches. Meanwhile, Spieth’s season highlights feature a strong fourth-place finish at the WM Phoenix Open and a commendable T9 finish at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches.
As the golf world eagerly anticipates their performance at the Memorial Tournament, Fowler and Spieth are gearing up to prove their mettle once again on the challenging greens of the Muirfield Village Golf Club. With their fifth sponsor exemptions secured, all eyes will be on these two talented players as they strive to make their mark in the upcoming tournament.

Djokovic learns fate in new home as Sabalenka addresses behaviour
Express Sport brings you the latest tennis news from the Paris Masters.
We’re reaching the business end of the Paris Masters, as eight players become four in the French capital. Jannik Sinner is the overwhelming favourite to lift the trophy after Carlos Alcaraz was dumped out by Cameron Norrie in the Spaniard’s opening match. Norrie was then beaten by Valentin Vacherot, whose amazing 10-match winning streak at Masters 1000 level came to an end when he lost to Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Canadian star Auger-Aliassime will face Alexander Bublik in the semis. Bublik defeated Alex de Minaur, who is among those to have already qualified for the year-end ATP Finals. Sinner is through to his first Paris Masters semi-final after beating Ben Shelton. He’ll face defending champion Alexander Zverev, who survived a tough match against Daniil Medvedev.
Novak Djokovic is not involved in the Paris Masters, having decided to skip the event for the second year in a row, but he has learned his fate in the draw of next week’s ATP 250 in Athens. And over in Riyadh, the WTA Finals are about to get underway.
