Jordan Spieth News Revealed Ahead of Truist Championship
Jordan Spieth is finding his stroke just in time for the PGA Tour’s major season, but the star golfer is also getting a bit of assistance ahead of this week’s Truist Championship. Spieth finished fourth at the Byron Nelson, but the golfer’s 19-under score did not quite compare to Scottie Scheffler’s sizzling 31-under performance.
Despite his inability to chase down Scheffler, Spieth is still playing in top form just ahead of the PGA Championship. Spieth admits that he is at a bit of a loss on how to top Scheffler.
“It’s inspiring what he’s doing,” Spieth said of Scheffler on Sunday, per Golf.com’s Sean Zak. “It makes me want to work harder and be better, especially after watching him for two days and just getting my butt kicked.
“I didn’t play great golf, but even if I did, it would have been hard to be at 18-under in two rounds. I don’t think I’ve ever done that,” Spieth added.
“So just getting your butt kicked right there face-to-face at this tournament really stinks.”
As for the Truist Championship, the PGA Tour initially announced Spieth would be an alternate for the tournament. It was later revealed that Spieth along with Rickie Fowler were among the golfers granted a sponsor’s exemption to play in the Truist Championship.
Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth and Gary Woodland have secured three of the four sponsor’s exemptions for next week,” Zak detailed in a May 2, message on X.

Djokovic learns fate in new home as Sabalenka addresses behaviour
Express Sport brings you the latest tennis news from the Paris Masters.
We’re reaching the business end of the Paris Masters, as eight players become four in the French capital. Jannik Sinner is the overwhelming favourite to lift the trophy after Carlos Alcaraz was dumped out by Cameron Norrie in the Spaniard’s opening match. Norrie was then beaten by Valentin Vacherot, whose amazing 10-match winning streak at Masters 1000 level came to an end when he lost to Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Canadian star Auger-Aliassime will face Alexander Bublik in the semis. Bublik defeated Alex de Minaur, who is among those to have already qualified for the year-end ATP Finals. Sinner is through to his first Paris Masters semi-final after beating Ben Shelton. He’ll face defending champion Alexander Zverev, who survived a tough match against Daniil Medvedev.
Novak Djokovic is not involved in the Paris Masters, having decided to skip the event for the second year in a row, but he has learned his fate in the draw of next week’s ATP 250 in Athens. And over in Riyadh, the WTA Finals are about to get underway.
