Stephen Curry, Jordan Spieth unveil renovations at Carver Vocational Technical High School
Two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry and professional golfer Jordan Spieth joined city and school leaders Monday to unveil renovations to Carver Vocational Technical High School’s weight room and athletic offices in Southwest Baltimore.
The big reveal happened on Under Armour’s 21st annual ‘Armour Day,’ a day where employees participate in community service to make a positive impact on the city.
This year’s activities continued to build on Under Armour’s partnership with Baltimore City Public Schools through Project Rampart, an initiative with the purpose of enhancing the student-athlete experience and propelling academic success through sport.
The more than $250,000 worth of renovations are thanks to a partnership between Under Armour and the Impact Fitness Foundation.
“This brand is proud of being in this city,” Under Armour CEO and founder Kevin Plank said.
The space was previously used as a wrestling room and storage area, according to Under Armour. Now, it’s a 2,500 square foot weight room featuring workout equipment, performance rubber flooring and industrial epoxy in non-fitness areas. There’s also new LED lighting, fresh blue and white paint to match the school’s colors and motivational quotes.
Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott addressed Carver Vocational High School student-athletes, saying “When you guys are able to have this top-notch facility, when you’re able to see and understand that people like Kevin Plank, like the greatest shooter of all-time, like one of the best golfers in the world in Jordan Spieth, believe in you directly, you can understand your potential is limitless.”
Curry helped with the reveal of the new area, that you can see in the video above.

Djokovic learns fate in new home as Sabalenka addresses behaviour
Express Sport brings you the latest tennis news from the Paris Masters.
We’re reaching the business end of the Paris Masters, as eight players become four in the French capital. Jannik Sinner is the overwhelming favourite to lift the trophy after Carlos Alcaraz was dumped out by Cameron Norrie in the Spaniard’s opening match. Norrie was then beaten by Valentin Vacherot, whose amazing 10-match winning streak at Masters 1000 level came to an end when he lost to Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Canadian star Auger-Aliassime will face Alexander Bublik in the semis. Bublik defeated Alex de Minaur, who is among those to have already qualified for the year-end ATP Finals. Sinner is through to his first Paris Masters semi-final after beating Ben Shelton. He’ll face defending champion Alexander Zverev, who survived a tough match against Daniil Medvedev.
Novak Djokovic is not involved in the Paris Masters, having decided to skip the event for the second year in a row, but he has learned his fate in the draw of next week’s ATP 250 in Athens. And over in Riyadh, the WTA Finals are about to get underway.
