Jannik Sinner picks the tournament he now wants to win the most before the end of the year
Jannik Sinner has already won two titles in 2025, saving his best tennis for the Grand Slam tournaments.
Kicking off 2025 where he left off in 2024, Sinner won the Australian Open in January, defeating Alexander Zverev in the final.
He then added another major title to his trophy cabinet at Wimbledon, when Sinner beat Carlos Alcaraz in four sets.
Failing to win his third title of the season in New York, Sinner is now gearing up for a return to action in Beijing for the China Open.
Speaking before he heads over to Asia, Sinner has picked the tournament he wants to win the most before the end of the season.
Jannik Sinner says the ‘goal is Turin’ as he sets his sights on the ATP Finals
Talking to Sky Italy, Sinner previewed the final few months of his 2025 campaign.
“Now I’m leaving for Beijing, and there are still many important tournaments. Physically, I feel good; after the US Open, I was completely at peace. I’m ready to get back on track and make some changes to further improve as a player,” he said.
“The goal is Turin, to play well, and then we’ll see how things go.
“I’m happy to be back on the tennis court, because that’s where I feel alive.”
He’ll return to Turin as the heavy favorite to defend his title, having played some of the best tennis of his career at the ATP Finals over recent years.
How many matches has Jannik Sinner won at the ATP Finals?
Sinner has played 12 total matches at the ATP Finals and has only tasted defeat twice.
He’ll be the favorite to win his second title in 2025, but that’s not to say he won’t have competition.
Novak Djokovic, the record seven-time champion, was the last player to beat Sinner at the tour finals and has often played some of his best tennis at the event.
His participation at the event is a real question; however, having skipped the tournament in 2024 despite qualifying.
Then, of course, there is the threat of Alcaraz, who has dominated their head-to-head in recent times.

Djokovic learns fate in new home as Sabalenka addresses behaviour
Express Sport brings you the latest tennis news from the Paris Masters.
We’re reaching the business end of the Paris Masters, as eight players become four in the French capital. Jannik Sinner is the overwhelming favourite to lift the trophy after Carlos Alcaraz was dumped out by Cameron Norrie in the Spaniard’s opening match. Norrie was then beaten by Valentin Vacherot, whose amazing 10-match winning streak at Masters 1000 level came to an end when he lost to Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Canadian star Auger-Aliassime will face Alexander Bublik in the semis. Bublik defeated Alex de Minaur, who is among those to have already qualified for the year-end ATP Finals. Sinner is through to his first Paris Masters semi-final after beating Ben Shelton. He’ll face defending champion Alexander Zverev, who survived a tough match against Daniil Medvedev.
Novak Djokovic is not involved in the Paris Masters, having decided to skip the event for the second year in a row, but he has learned his fate in the draw of next week’s ATP 250 in Athens. And over in Riyadh, the WTA Finals are about to get underway.
