Boris Becker shares advice for Holger Rune after his Achilles surgery
The future of Holger Rune, the young Danish tennis player, is still uncertain after an Achilles tendon injury. The famous tennis player left the court at the Stockholm Open in tears, surrendering the match in the semi-finals against Ugo Humbert.
The public and fans wondered about the seriousness of this injury, hoping that the Danish tennis player would return to the court as soon as possible. Early assessments suggested that Rune could be out for up to a year, and now, weeks later, his former coach Boris Becker has decided to react.
Although their cooperation did not last long, Becker still has positive emotions towards Rune and great respect. Through the X platform, Becker pointed out that he was happy about the successful surgery, aware of how important it was for Holger, telling him to be patient and to believe in his return.
“Glad the surgery went well ! Now be patient with the rehab and come back stronger!!!”- Boris Becker wrote.
A difficult period
This will certainly be a difficult period for the young tennis player, but there are many of his colleagues who went through the same obstacles and came back stronger. At this moment, the mental strength of the famous tennis player will be crucial for his recovery. Rune has shown throughout his career that he knows how to deal with difficult moments.
Well-known faces of the tennis scene also wished him a speedy recovery, stressing how important it is to focus on rehabilitation and believe in his return. Among those who had encouraging messages were Rafael Nadal, as well as Jannik Sinner.
The world number 10 has never had such a serious injury during his career, so it is clear how challenging this period is.
Holger is grateful to everyone for their support, considering that such support certainly gives the wind at his back.

Djokovic learns fate in new home as Sabalenka addresses behaviour
Express Sport brings you the latest tennis news from the Paris Masters.
We’re reaching the business end of the Paris Masters, as eight players become four in the French capital. Jannik Sinner is the overwhelming favourite to lift the trophy after Carlos Alcaraz was dumped out by Cameron Norrie in the Spaniard’s opening match. Norrie was then beaten by Valentin Vacherot, whose amazing 10-match winning streak at Masters 1000 level came to an end when he lost to Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Canadian star Auger-Aliassime will face Alexander Bublik in the semis. Bublik defeated Alex de Minaur, who is among those to have already qualified for the year-end ATP Finals. Sinner is through to his first Paris Masters semi-final after beating Ben Shelton. He’ll face defending champion Alexander Zverev, who survived a tough match against Daniil Medvedev.
Novak Djokovic is not involved in the Paris Masters, having decided to skip the event for the second year in a row, but he has learned his fate in the draw of next week’s ATP 250 in Athens. And over in Riyadh, the WTA Finals are about to get underway.
